I love the visualization you created for the story in the beginning stating how it's like "a rainy Monday morning..."

The idea you had of how you think the family is gone a vacation is something I did not consider when reading. When I realized the house was empty and the dog showed up out of no where I believed the family had been gone for sometime. Suggesting that there was an accident, apocalypse, or they disappeared. Maybe dark....but that's the vibe I was receiving from the story.
